- Mentioned under the heading 'Confirmation candidates'. Confirmed at Talbot House by the Archbishop of Canterbury on 17.05.1916. His commanding officer, Major Harold Philby, had made arrangements for Hollies to be confirmed in the Upper Room. That same night Philby was killed in action.
